Membership FAQ
How do I go about joining Women in Business?
(1) If it is the beginning of either the fall or spring semesters, look to find one of our information sessions. The dates for these events are broadcasted on our instagram @uni_wib. These sessions will provide you with everything you need to know!
(2) If it is not the beginning of a semester (or you would feel more comfortable communicating via email), feel free to reach out through our contact form below. Once you do that, an executive member will follow up with you and provide you with information about the membership fee, dates on events, and a synopsis of what events WIB holds. Here you can also ask us any other questions you have about the organization.
How much is the membership fee? Do I have to pay for both semesters?
Membership fees are $20 for the year or $15 for one semester, you can choose if you want to pay for one or both semesters up front. If you decide to join during the middle of the semester you will still have to pay the full $15 for that specific semester.
Is there a gender or major requirement to join?
No! We welcome everyone to join WIB. Our goal is to create a community within the UNI College of Business that fosters development and allows our members to expand their professional experiences to work towards a successful future. If that sounds like something you want to be a part of, we welcome you to join our organization!
What types of events can I expect to see in WIB?
Every month, we hold a professional meeting where we invite a speaker in then we further expand on those skills taught to us in a developmental meeting later in the month. We also host social events, a membership retreat, fundraising, volunteer efforts, conferences, and trips throughout the semester. We also have larger special events like YWIL, Women's History Month, Hall of Fame, and the Run Like a Mother 5k that happen once a year.
