Sponsorship Mixer

The Sponsorship Mixer will allow Women in Business members to network with professionals in the Cedar Valley who support the growth of our club. Join us for an evening of great professional development!

Professional Meeting
September 10 | 7–8 PM
Emily Schroeder will be speaking with the club this evening. The topic is to be determined.

Kelsey is a 2011 UNI alum who studied public relations and marketing. 
 Upon graduation she entered financial services as a college recruiter.  Knowing she always wanted a career in sports, she accepted a position with Learfield in 2015, managing and selling corporate sponsorships for UNI Athletics where she is going into her fourth athletic season.  Kelsey stays very active within the community and the university in various forms including (but not limited to) hosting professional growth and etiquette seminars.

Professional Meeting

Beth Cox-Hellingsworth with VGM will be speaking with us about how to deal with and move on from receiving negative feedback.

Beth describes herself as a forward thinker and a dreamer, constantly striving to improve both professionally and personally. With over ten years and VGM, she currently serves as the Director of Content Strategy. On the side, she manages her own lifestyle coaching company, which she founded last year. Beth also enjoys reading as well as spending time with her husband and pets.

Developmental Meeting
October 22 | 7–8 PM
​Amanda Losasso will be leading a workshop regarding how to use LinkedIn and how to make our profiles stand out in the crowd.

Amanda currently serves as recruiter for MassMutual. In her 7-year professional recruiting career, she has been given countless professional growth opportunities. She has given roughly 100 class/club talks, conducted nearly 1,000 interviews, introduced tons of students to other employers, grown her own professional network immensely and worked one-on-one with dozens of young financial service representatives building their brand new businesses. Beyond her passion for influencing others, Amanda also enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as cooking and attending Cross Fit classes.

Professional Trip to Des Moines
October 26 | All Day
Join Women in Business for a professional trip to Des Moines on Friday, October 26th. We will be going to Principal Financial Group in downtown where we will learn about their company, internship opportunities, and have break out sessions based on majors so you can see what a job in your field would look like. In the afternoon, we will be visiting Meredith Corporation downtown where we will learn about their company, hear from a panel of employees, and take a tour of their campus! This is a great opportunity for networking and learning about potential careers!

Professional Meeting
November 5 | 7–8 PM
A panel of  professionals from Principal Financial Group will be sponsoring a casual Q &A to provide advice and insight regarding college and career related topics.

IWLC Conference
Novmber 7 | 8 AM – 5 PM
Women in Business will be attending IWLC this year in Des Moines. IWLC's Student Track program is designed to assist aspiring young women to take a meaningful step on their leadership journey and learn more about women's leadership and career preparation. As a conference attendee, undergraduate students have access to locally and nationally known women leaders with valuable experience and an opportunity to network with hundreds of professionals within their own community.
