Here at Women in Business
Women in Business (WiB) is a student group on the University of Northern Iowa campus. We are a business organization, but we are open to any student who will one day work in the professional world. Our club is also not exclusively female, and we're more than happy to welcome male members. Our group was founded after two business students attended the Iowa Women of Innovation event and were inspired by the women they were able to meet and listen to. Upon returning to UNI, they wanted to join a group that promoted women in the workplace and found that there was not one...so they started their own.
WiB is founded on our SPINDLE principles. SPINDLE stands for: Synergy, Professionalism, Innovation, Networking, Development, Leadership, and Empowerment. A spindle is also defined as a pin serving as an axis on which something revolves. This definition is appropriate for WiB since our goal is to build a community that revolves around those values.
We hope to educate, develop, and empower our members in order to help them succeed and achieve their goals in the professional world.
